Terrible headache x 100 times = Migraine

This morning woke up already felt very heavy head. Thought maybe after some breakfast, i pop in 2 panadol tablets would be fine. After taking a glass of milk at home, took my "school bus" to work. Still felt very bad in the bus.

Reached office. Felt nauseous so went to toilet to throw up the milk. Then thought after throwing out, i should be fine. Ate 2 cheese buns. Also vomited out those as well as the 2 panadol pills i took.

Tried to rest in conference room. Cleaning auntie was heating up her curry for tea break. Smelt the curry then the feeling of nauseous came again. So you know what happened next. Went toilet again.

Angie said better go see doc. So she helped me call for the time. But still waited almost 1 hour to see the doc. While waiting, go toilet throw up one more time.

Anyway doc says what happened? didnt sleep well? Nightmare? Or wrong food?

She said my stomach slightly bloated. Gave me some gastric pills, pain killers and vomitting pills. But no MC. How could i work in such a condition.

So went back office. I told my boss abt the bad headache and he allowed me to go back.

Even on the bus i could still feel the emptiness of stomach, the head pounding and vomitting spells.

After that then i realised it should be migraine. Hit me once 3 years ago. That time was worst. It lasted longer and i see flashes of white light.

It was a terrible feeling.....and it is always accompanied by its good friend...Vomitting.

GV Gold & Harry Potter

Went to watch Harry Potter last Thurs. Find it quite boring... sorry...... But i think i had too much expectations after reading the book.

Anyway had fun at GV Gold. Had drinks and finger food before going into the cinema. Then got big big reclining seats and warm blankets.

But expensive tickets man... $25 per seat. Luckily its complementary this time.

Things will turn out for the better

Not so smooth going these few weeks.. Have been having some problems at work.

1. Virement of budget problem
2. Late signing of an agmt
3. Stepped onto some "big shots" toes becos "approved" a bigger apartment

The last being the worst. It has been quite smooth sailing for the past 1 year. Even got the merit increment. Have my luck been running out?

I just hope all these wont affect my appraisal next year. Luckily my boss is still quite patient with me.

SVP again

Ah ya.. again because of that earlier issue. Now this SVP sort of complained to my SVP. My boss asked me what happened. So i relate the whole story to him.

He really has a point. We should not commit to the stations. Any exceptions we should throw it back to station and ask them to seek waiver from their SVP.

Now we are being roped in and being made used of. He said there might be some grudges going on between this SVP and the station, we dont even know. These people are "snakes".

Which i actually agree with him. First time i felt the office politics and so sway i unknowingly become involved in it.

Its an important lesson learnt, not only for work but also in life.

Bao zi

My latest food craze- tau sa bao (red bean fillings)!!

I remembered few months ago it was tau suan, the dessert. Then earlier was soya bean milk. I dont know why i always have this particular food craving every few months. And when i have this craving, i will keep eating that food very very frequently for that period.

Anyway now its bao... and mind you.. its not any other bao like meat bao or vegetable bao... it must be red bean paste fillings. I just cannot resist when i think of the piping hot bao... fresh from steaming pots... wow.. Yummy :()

Hope i dont look like a big fat bao after the craze ends....

Harry Potter & the order of phoenix

Forgot to add. My Harry Potter movie finally opened yesterday.

But i got to wait till next Thurs to watch as Regina has free tickets for the show at Vivocity. Thanks Buddy for inviting and remembering i liked Harry Potter shows.

No wonder he is SVP!

This afternoon got an email from SVP. I have earlier approved a lease renewal for an area much bigger than the guidelines.

He said that he does not agree with me and added that we should include properties with floor area closer to the guidelines for evaluation. At first, i keep telling my colleagues that it would not be an apple to apple comparison and he is not coming from a real estate viewpt at all.

I insist that property people do not look at rental evaluations like that.

I decided to wait and consider a little longer before i reply to his email. So i went for a quick shopping in town after work. When i reached home and still thinking on how to reply him, i took a pen and jot down on what he wants us to include in our evaluation.

Then i suddenly SEE his point. He is thinking much more than just surface or just real estate rates.

So no wonder he can become an SVP. He has the "shi li", boy!

No wonder today not smooth.. its friday the 13!

Lean event (9 to 12 July)

Lean event over! Had fun cos the two facilitators are nice and easy going people. Thanks Ben and Suresh. *will keep in mind the chay kueh tiao career*

But the 3 days was draining. We had to keep looking at our current work process and how to improve on it.

Today team leader presented but Lean mentor was very unhappy because our team leader was not actively involved in the lean process. So he felt we should present instead.

Both Michelle & me feel that he will surely view his unhappiness to the steering committee.

I just pray nothing bad will happen. The mentor said that leader will present. And we are just the team members.

Bonus day

Actually supposed to be tomorrow. 7th of July. But early this morning, alot of the colleagues already announced "money in the bank already".

Nobody seemed to be in the mood for work?

I cannot understand. My colleagues have been here for so many years. They are still excited over the bonuses. But having said that, who's not excited abt money anyway.

Frankly, i am not as excited. Maybe because they announced the amount in May. And my excitement did not last till 2 months later.

Nonetheless It's a good day anyway!

Special day

First of July... not a "usual" sunday due to the following events:

1) Hong Kong handover 10th Anniversary
2) GST increase to 7%
3) Closing of the National Stadium

Somehow felt inspired by these events... But excluding event no. 2.
