Seven habits of the highly effective people

I just completed the 3 day course for the above and for the benefit for those who have not attended, here are the 7 habits-

1. Be proactive
2. Begin with the end in mind
3. First thing first
4. Think win-win
5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood
6. Synergize
7. Sharpen the saw

I heard from the facilitator that the 8th habit, latest one is "Find your voice".

Whenever i feel nervous, i will have an urge to vomit. Like i did a presentation on the last day of the course, i was so nervous cos there are captains, first officers, SMs in the same course. So i badly wanted to present well. Hence throw up some breakfast.

Anyway what is so unusual abt this course is not the course itself. But this guy that i met. Let's call him K.

On the first day, K came and sat beside me. We started a normal conversation but he had unusually more things to say to me. So being friendly, i just chatted with him. After the course ended on the first day, he asked me if i wanted to go for a drink somewhere near. So i thought since he is quite a nice guy, i dont mind going out. After the drink i thought of walking home since eastpt is so near my house, but he insisted on sending me home.

But the scary part comes the second and third day where he keep following me where i go, giving me extra attention, sitting next to me whereever i am (either canteen or computer room),talking to me alot, saying both of us are similar in many ways, offer to wait with me for my father to come, lend me book to read.

I admit that on the first day, i find him quite a nice guy. But after the second and third day, i was quite put off by him cos he talked too much and i am not in the least interested in his topics and everything that he had to say.

Today, he even wanted to share my drinks. And i rejected him straight away. Excuse me i have only known you for 3 days. But of course i didnt say that to him. I just said that it is an hygiene issue.

He also asked for my mobile which i gave to him as a friend. But i think he knows i have started to avoid him for the last 2 days.

There are other cute guys in the course which i am more interested in. Why didnt they make the move like K?

Nippon coffee

If you are a coffee lover and you happen to go Japan, you can never miss their coffee. Very fragrance and aromatic, no matter whether you are buying from the outside shops or drinking in their cafes or even drinking those small coffee packs available free in the hotel rooms.

I think i started this love for it when i was in Tokyo last Sept. The Hilton hotel in Shinjuku has free nescafe coffee packs in the rooms. So every morning i just look forward to that cup of hot and nice coffee. It really made my day.

Today i happened to be at NTUC and discovered that they start to import the nescafe coffee from Japan. I immediately bought a bottle. More expensive though than our local coffee powder. But worth the price when i brought home and made myself a cup.

UCC coffee is also from Japan. I think should be nice as well. But i would still stick by my made in japan nescafe brand. Try it!

Surprise!!

I was in Bangkok for 1 night, last night. On a special mission to deliver some stuff.

Had very nice thai food, did a good massage which relieve my shoulders ache so much, plus 15 mins Wacoal shopping.

Thats all. And i am back in Singapore today.

My shortest trip of all.

The massage room i had with a shower cubicle- very very dim lights. So that the masseur can only feel your body fats and hopefully not see them so clearly. Ha ha.

Side note-on my flight to BKK, i saw this really really good looking guy. Initially he was sitting in the same row as me. then the stewardess came and said that he was in the wrong seat. His seat is supposed to be a few rows in front. After we landed, i still see him around in the transit area, waiting for his baggage. He looks american chinese, slim, slightly tan and wearing a smart suit, shld be on business trip. His handphone strap is BV brand... abit vainish la but must have earned quite abit.

Honjin Japanese restaurant

Last wednesday, the day before our Labour day public holiday, i went out with my colleagues for dinner. The official reason is to celebrate our annual increment.

We went to this japanese restaurant along Robinson Road. The restaurant is having the UOB credit card one for one dining promotion.

There are total 8 of us joining. One of them a Senior Manager. I seldom liase with him on work so initially i dont feel comfortable having him join our "usual group". And no matter what he is still a superior. So have to be careful with words. Just dont feel totally at ease.

8 of us in 3 cars and we were early when we reached the restaurant. I think it was close to 6.10pm and in fact the restaurant had just opened for business. We managed to get a tatami room. But which means that we will either have to sit on the floor or with our legs in a kneeling position. And worst of all, i was wearing a skirt *those who understand me well should know how infrequently i wear skirts although i am trying to improve*

Anyway after a while, both Rose and myself really couldnt take it anymore hence we stretched out our legs underneath the table. How unjapanese that is!!

So we started ordering alot (and i mean ALOT) of food. But good thing is that it comes in small servings so we can actually try many varieties. We had sashimi, hand roll, sukiyaki, tereyaki, tempura, yakitori, sushi, garlic rice and alot more.

Other than the food, I really enjoyed that night's company including the Senior Manager. Call him Mr Q. He is so fun to be with, very different from what we see him in office. He really let his *white* hair down that night, asks us alot of IQ questions and telling us jokes.

Everyone was so full at the end of the dinner. But surprising i felt ok. Oh dear i hope i am not already eating more than what i should.

After dinner, Rose asked Mr Q to send us to MRT near our house. Ha in the end, he dont mind sending us home.

Happy! Nice dinner, of course the fun loving people and free ride home as well.
