I feel for him

There is this uncle that take my office transport. I noticed him because he has a rather kind face. He always board the bus at Simei opposite Melville Park, just before the bus goes to Tampines Street 21. He must have been taking the transport for a long time, at least it was since i start taking the transport 2 and a half years ago.

He disappeared for quite a while, i think maybe 2 or 3 months. I thought he has retired.

This morning he came back to the transport. He was taking a long time to climb up the bus. One guy infront let him have the second row seat so that he does not have to walk all the way to the back. I remembered he nearly fell when he was walking along the aisle to reach the seat.

After work, he also took the transport home. Boy was i so upset and uneasy when i see his face. His face has totally changed, sunken and doesnt look like his previous self at all. I admit that he is even scary to look at. How can a person changed so much within few months and look so awful. Plus his stomach is very bloated and his feet has swell by at least two times. He was also panting alot.

I cannot imagine what happened to him. He at least aged by 15 to 20 years, now looking like an 80 year old. I think he is only 60 maybe?

I guessed it was cancer. I believe so. Not one illness can torture a person till his facial characteristics changed so much.

And he still insist on coming to work. How does he pull through the entire day from 8.30am to 5.30pm?

I hope he get well soon.......
