Today bum into that cute guy i met during my course last year. I was having lunch at airport and saw him walking around.
Initially I didnt want to acknowledge him in case he cant remember. That would be so embarressing. Then he came over and chatted. Mainly abt updates on his work.
He is back for a meeting today and will be going back tomorrow (he is posted overseas).

Murphy's Law
This is interesting.
Murphy's law is an adage in Western culture that broadly states that things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance. It is most often cited as "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" (or, alternately, "Whatever can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time, in the worst possible way" or, "Anything that can go wrong, will," or "If anything can go wrong, it will, and usually at the most inopportune moment").
Ha ha.

Can you cook?
I remember i used to cook quite well. At least i am able to prepare a 3-dish meal for my china relatives when they came to stay at my house. That was probably 10 years ago, during my school days. I even attended japanese cooking lessons that lasted for about 2 months.
And i will cook for the family during the weekends when everyone goes to my granny's house, of course thanks to the help of my cousins/ aunties. I think i tried sushi, chawanmushi...
Then gradually i became busy with work, studies.... or maybe plain lazy. I havent touched cooking for a couple of years. I guessed i cant bring myself to start whenever i think of all the ingredients to get, the actual buying and then the cooking. I seriously dont mind the washing up after the meals.
Anyway i admit that my cooking skills are at its worst now. I tried making fried rice few months ago. It was one of my better dish then. Anyway it was a failure. Not even talking abt the taste, but it looked way too wet and sloppy, if you know what i mean.
Then another of my favourite dish, pork porridge also tasted funny, maybe too salty when i cooked 2 weeks ago. My instant noodles also tasted "normal" not fantastic.
So i can only conclude that you need alot of practice for good cooking skills and of course great passion for it. I believe the satisfaction comes from the people that finish your food and praise you for it.
I have nothing to worry actually cos i have great cooks around me. My granny, my mum, my ah kim, my aunties too. And not forgetting, Tenny, Wendy and Winine. I know you three can cook too. So i always get to eat very yummy food.
OK, maybe few years down the road, i might rekindle my love for cooking.

HKG trip.. unexpectedly nice
Arrived late into SIN last night, almost midnight. The flight landing was flawless, so smooth that if you dont look out of the window, you wouldn't have realised it.
A very nice experience to count down to 2008 in HKG. Myself and Ting, plus Fiona (my HK penpal) and her boyfriend Chris intended to watch fireworks at Avenue of stars, Tsim Sha Tsui side. However the crowd was terrible, every other Hong Konger is there to watch as well. So in the end, we had to change our location to the Harbour City. We managed to catch some glimpse of the fireworks. 10 seconds before midnight, countdown starts. I shouted out in english, then realised everyone else is shouting in Cantonese. haha. It was such so different. When the clock strikes 12, some people started dancing and wishing each other "Happy new year". As the Hong Kongers say, New Year, New Improvements.
Also took the terrifying cable car to Lantau island to see Big Buddha and went to the Mdm Tussaud's wax musuem at Victoria Peak.
Plus of course alot of shopping victories with a big hole in my pocket.
Nice trip, which i didnt expect since so many times there already.
