Can you cook?

I remember i used to cook quite well. At least i am able to prepare a 3-dish meal for my china relatives when they came to stay at my house. That was probably 10 years ago, during my school days. I even attended japanese cooking lessons that lasted for about 2 months.

And i will cook for the family during the weekends when everyone goes to my granny's house, of course thanks to the help of my cousins/ aunties. I think i tried sushi, chawanmushi...

Then gradually i became busy with work, studies.... or maybe plain lazy. I havent touched cooking for a couple of years. I guessed i cant bring myself to start whenever i think of all the ingredients to get, the actual buying and then the cooking. I seriously dont mind the washing up after the meals.

Anyway i admit that my cooking skills are at its worst now. I tried making fried rice few months ago. It was one of my better dish then. Anyway it was a failure. Not even talking abt the taste, but it looked way too wet and sloppy, if you know what i mean.

Then another of my favourite dish, pork porridge also tasted funny, maybe too salty when i cooked 2 weeks ago. My instant noodles also tasted "normal" not fantastic.

So i can only conclude that you need alot of practice for good cooking skills and of course great passion for it. I believe the satisfaction comes from the people that finish your food and praise you for it.

I have nothing to worry actually cos i have great cooks around me. My granny, my mum, my ah kim, my aunties too. And not forgetting, Tenny, Wendy and Winine. I know you three can cook too. So i always get to eat very yummy food.

OK, maybe few years down the road, i might rekindle my love for cooking.
